zzHof-How To Write
GETTING READERS
Even if one offers their writing for FREE, They are getting known.
NOW THE TRICK QUESTION IS: HOW DOES ONE GET PEOPLE TO READ THEIR WRITTEN WORKS?
I am fortunate to have industrial sales experience. I sold high dollar doors and hardware. On day a lady showed up at my office and stayed there observing me. I wondered what she was up to. Finally, she said, "Now I know how you sell so much, You don't give them a chance to say no. I said, "Do you want me to let them say no?" A little while later she left my office. She did not know that I once sold real estate and took part of a Tommy Hopkins sales training course where I learned about a porcupine questions. A porcupine question is where one answers a question with a question.
HOW DOES ONE GET STARTED FINDING READERS? Unfortunately there are people out there who think a business card is obsolete. However, an E-CARD is how I got so many viewers on my 6 websites. Along with a business card is word-of-mouth advertising. I use every opportunity I can to tell people about my websites. It is astounding to me that so many people have similar experiences like mine. That gives me a wedge in the proverbial door.
Let's look at it this way. If one makes paper balloon vases and wants to tell people about them. How many people know what a paper balloon vase is? Not many. But if one says they make craft objects. Now most people know what crafts are. Then one can explain what a paper balloon vase is.
It's what one says that gets them known. Getting readers is like driving a tanker truck. Your destination is more readers. So we need to stay focused. . |
