CAN ONE GET PUBLISHED?

THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION IS YES, BUT THE PHRASE , "DON,T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB" IS APPROPRIATE HERE.

I tried writing articles for Modern Photography. Soon after I got published several times the magazine stopped publication. I made less than $150.00 US dollars.

Later, I started to write letters to the editor for newspapers and got almost all of the letters published. The only catch is they did not pay anything for the letters.

In 2006 I was a self publisher of "Baha Bay Books". I sold only a few books and had to give it up when the printing house raised my per book printing cost so high it was impossible for me to break even.

Over the years I have had a lot of my writing published but still no paychecks.

I went to college and got a degree in computer information systems in networking; however, I could not get a job working on computers or a computer network job.

It wasn't until my wife of 42 years died that I seriously started working on my website Life Over 56.com. I started writing about her when she was in a nursing home and thought I could maybe help others who had similar life changing events.
