zzHof-How To Write
HOBBIES, ART & CRAFTS ARE VERY POPULAR
WRITING ABOUT HOBBIES, ART AND CRAFTS is a great way to get started writing. Many magazines accept submissions and some even pay for an accepted article for publication. NOTE: An Article is a writing that is part of a newspaper, magazine or other publication & can be in print or online.
HOW DOES ONE FIND A MAGAZINE ADDRESS TO WRITE AND ASK TO SUBMIT AN ARTICLE!
THE EASIEST WAY is to do an internet search - Simply type in the kind of magazine one is interested in writing for. Magazine Examples: Hobbies, Art, Woodworking, Crafts, Scrap Booking, Quilting, Music, Origami etc followed by the word magazine. There are far more magazines out there than most people realize. If one has knowledge in any kind or Art, Crafts, Sewing, Decor & the list goes on and on; they have edge over those who have no experience related to the publication. One does not have to buy the magazine to find out where they can submit an article. The can go to their local library or do an online search for a particular magazine's submission guidelines.
When I sent an article in to be published, I had to be extra careful and proofread it over and over because my acceptance rate was very high. I had a double dilemma. First: if I made a mistake I had no way to fix it like I do with my websites. Second: I felt an error or two would send a strong message to the editor that I was not a good writer.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW SUBMISSION GUIDELINES.
SOME MAGAZINES ARE SEASONAL AND IT CAN TAKE MONTHS TO HEAR ABOUT A SUBMISSION IF AT ALL. A magazine may not send out rejection letters either. . |
